News and Notes

Matt McLain may need surgery

There was a bit of an ominous update on Matt McLain this afternoon. Manager David Bell said they were still discussing “all options”, but one of those options was McLain having surgery. He also mentioned that it’s possible McLain could begin the season on the active roster. Take any and all of that for what it’s worth at this point…. not a whole lot. We’re all going to find out together.

More roster cuts

Cincinnati made two roster cuts today, sending catchers Austin Wynns and P.J. Higgins to minor league camp.

my eyes are already on 2025 at this point. dont think we can handle Mclain, Friedl, Marte out for half the year.

Do we try to call the Blue Jays and get Votto back? make 2024 all about Votto and star with a clean slate in 2025? I don’t know. just thinking out loud i guess.

Does India need to be stealing bases in Spring Training?

Barrero HBP, then Semien hits a slam off Lowder

Facing major league hitters can be a challenge for a rookie.

On the other hand, Richardson is off to a good start through the first two innings.

Lowder removed from the game. Now we have to hold our breath and hope there’s nothing wrong. That’s how gun-shy I’ve become with Red’s injuries.

Hopefully they bring him back next inning on the re-entry.

Marte’s stupidity will haunt us this season positionaly with all the injuries & weird juggling that will ensure.

Lyon Richardson, 5 ground ball out, two, flyable outs.

Tha’s do. As long as we still have five infielders on the dirt.
