News and Notes

Pitchers progressing well

Some good news on the injury front. Bell told Mark Sheldon of Reds.com that tomorrow would be a better day to talk about Lodolo, with the idea there being they’d need to see how he felt tomorrow.

Matt McLain getting a clean bill of health is also good news. Even though his MRI came back clean after his initial oblique tweak, it’s good to see that he’s getting closer to getting back on the field and into games.

Watch while you can

If you’ve got the opportunity to watch the game, do so. The next one you can watch will be on March 7th unless someone adds a game between now and then.

I’m Indy and hope it’s not blacked out since it’s ST. Could be a fun season with all of the talent we now have.

My note about the blackouts is about trying to watch through MLBtv. I’m not sure if MLB Network games are blacked out or not through MLBtv.

      • Doug Gray

I have checked – I am not blacked out via MLBtv.

      • Mark Moore

As I understand it, ST games are not subject to any blackouts.

    • Melvin

I just had a chance to check. I’m not blacked out either.

Glad to hear McClain is healthy. The offense tailed off last year after he was injured.

  3. Mark Moore

Good first inning. Really liked the single, single plus speed, and sac fly to score Elly.

    • Melvin

Glad to see we’re learning how to score more without the HR.

Iโ€™m watching Spectrum Sportsnet Live LA.

The names on the backs of the uniforms are really small.

  5. MK

Looks like Alexisโ€™s leg lift is a little higher than last year.

De La Cruz showing patience at the plate is a very good thing. Walks are more often than not a double….maybe even a triple. ๐Ÿ™‚

From your lips to God’s ears … were it not for a good carom, he’s on 3rd and then scores on the bobble by Lux.

I know itโ€™s only Spring Training and these games donโ€™t count. But I like beating the Dodgers anywhere, anytime. Iโ€™d especially like it, if they were beaten 1-0 and thoroughly out pitched.

    • Mark Moore

It’s one of the oldest grudge opponent matches in my memory.

  8. Mark Moore

Nice inning from TJ. If he’s well on the way to healed, that ups our bullpen game.

  9. Melvin

Not a bad hit by CES. haha It would have been out in most ball parks.

  10. Mark Moore

WOW!!! CES put a charge into that one. A triple an deep enough for TySteve to score?

    I like this stuff.

I’m thinking Stuey might develop some facial hair this year … the scraggly kind on the chin.

  12. Mark Moore

Ooops … Betts caught that one even though it was a little low.

  13. Rick

    Good news concerning McLain.
Elly looks like he’s added a couple lbs that’ll help his endurance, stamina, come late summer.

The sight of the Dodgers still takes me back to the rivalry days before they changed up the divisions. Even with a game that does not count I want the Reds to beat them by 25.

    • Mark Moore

The pain of waiting so long for the “late box scores” to find their way to the papers when they played out there.

  15. Mark Moore

Soooo close to working out of that jam.

  16. Mark Moore

Talk about carry on that hit by Arroyo … ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I forgot how you do you “wow” emoji. Tell me again please.

Arroyo showing power. Almost out in LF. I’m seeing very good things out of his all around game. Didn’t realize he hit LH.

  18. Mark Moore

Bit of a cookie there and he got all of it.

Trolley Dodgers booth talking about Joey’s “shopping cart” video now. They are chuckling. Giving him quite a bit of love.

Wynns put a charge into that one but it was run down.

  20. Mark Moore

Wins are good. Wins against the Trolley Dodgers are extra sweet.

Off to bed. Great fun to be watching games and interacting with this crew again.
