A rough week for the ‘ol Redlegs, but Nate and I are here to tell you not to lose faith. This team has the same flaws they had before the recent losing streak, but they’re also just as fun. #Believe
We also discussed the debut of Christian Encarnacion-Strand, the future for Jonathan India, and this week’s Reds Hall of Fame induction.

I do hope I’m wrong when I say. . .
Especially with the decimation of the pitching staff, but also with no competent leadership, no veteran leadership, no player accountability, I am just hoping we make the playoffs. Sure, if we get hot at the right time, we could cause some damage in the playoffs. But, you can say that about every team. So, that’s a wash. As of now, our team isn’t in good shape for any playoff run. They can potentially make the playoffs.
People will talk of. . .with the pitchers coming back, but there’s no guarantee they are going to be pitching lights out when they do come back from injury. Again, from injury.
People love to talk about our youth. Youth make mistakes more than veterans. Mistakes can cost games. Should we really even go into the “Once the other team’s learn how to defend them, then they are going to struggle”? “Well, they have a lot to learn.” Of course they have a lot to learn. More than just a month or 2 in the majors is going to give them. That’s one reason why I try to hold back from giving any rookie any extension until after at least 1.5 seasons in, to see how they adjust, how the other teams adjust, how they adjust back, etc.
We won’t even get into leadership.
Again, I hope I’m wrong. I am going to be cheering for the Reds every game, hopefully to a WS title. I Just wouldn’t put my money on it. Those who say I’m wrong, so you would put your money on it? If you would, that’s fine. I just wouldn’t. I just don’t believe we are there yet.
