Reds links and news
The Cincinnati Reds are valued at $1.39 Billion
Sportico has released their valuations for all 30 teams in Major League Baseball for 2023 and the Cincinnati Reds come in at $1.39 billion. That’s down 1% from last year, but that also moved them up one spot in the rankings and they are now the 22nd most valuable team in the major leagues.
More roster cuts
The Reds made four more roster cuts today, sending Daniel Duarte, Tayron Guerrero, Kevin Herget, and Richie Martin to minor league camp. That trims the number of players in big league came to 45.
It would be great to see Overton turn things around to show the form he briefly had last year. The Reds desperately need someone to step up as starter #4 and 5.
The craziness of the whole thing is Alex Blandino is a free agent. Right there is your fourth starter.
Haha good call JB!
Pinder starting tonight at 3rd. They are really pushing him. He is close. Got to get him going. Pathetic.
Overton is looking better today. 4 K’s in 2 inning, with a few soft hits, and giving up 1. Let’s see if he can get a clean 3rd.
Got to love the passion in the stadium for Puerto Rico/Domincan WBC game.
I’m guessing this lineup is very, very close to what we’ll see in most games this season.
Swap Myers for Fairchild, and later Senzel for Friedl, and that’s just the way David Bell likes it.
“Benson and Barrero? Who’s that?” – David Bell
I suspect you are right. The question boils down to whether Krall does his job or not. If Krall believes guys like Pinder and Strickland belong on the opening day roster, then the Reds need a new GM as well.
Did Overton hit a pitch limit? Also I wouldn’t mind seeing Law making the trip east.
