While Nick Castellanos had his suspension upheld after appeal yesterday, the Cincinnati Reds outfielder didn’t get a chance to speak publicly about things until this afternoon. With the Reds being off on Monday, Castellanos spoke with the media prior to the game on Tuesday. Here’s all that he had to say with regards to his suspension.

His suspension is pure bullcrap. He didn’t deserve any of this. He was walking away and then Tattooneck grabbed him by the collar or the neck or something and also Woodruff started yelling at him. MLB should be ashamed of themselves.
Tomn – don’t avoid the swear filter. Just choose different words.
Hopefully he uses it as fuel. Especially when we play the WLB’s next.
I was not quite sure if he was fitting in last year and not sure if he wanted to be here. I was wrong. This guy has that internal fire this team needs. I hope we re sign him til he retires.
I love this comment…
What I find fascinating about this interview is that it is perhaps the most sincere that I’ve ever heard Castellanos. And yet, his ability to give tactful and noninflammatory answers showed a real intelligence and political sophistication. This is not your typical meathead jock… no…this guy has brains.
Rico suave
Love his fire and passion.Just hope we can resign him.Understands the game within the game.Too bad the commish doesn’t.Old timers are laughing at the players but it has as much to do with the governing body then the players. There’s more hollering and passion at a little league game then what happened at that game.I saw a good dance the other night at a girl’s soccer match that would put that to shame yet Nick instigated a bench clearing incident. Most of them were asleep anyway and just found a friend on the other team to hug and dance around for a little while. Its a joke for the commish to even look at the tape and even a bigger joke to suspend Nick or anybody for that matter.Guess they have to earn their pay some how.
Once again MLB is run by a HYPOCRITE. How stupid is Manfred? He is the worst Commissioner in MLB history. He’s got to go!!!
Rob Manfred is not in charge of, nor does he deal with these kinds of punishments. This was Michael Hill’s decision.
Ok then it’s “How stupid is Michael Hill?” lol
Was it Joe Girardi that used to have that role?
Not that he’s totally responsible in this case, but I agree. Let’s call whatever casino syndicates that pay MLB and complain!
“Like in anything, there just needs to be a balance.”-
Wise beyond his years.
Too bad the folks in charge of MLB discipline don’t have the same wisdom
