MLB Network announced their first week of spring training games this morning. Among their schedule that’s packed full of baseball are two Cincinnati Reds baseball games. The first game will be on Tuesday March 2nd at 8pm when the Los Angeles Angels visit Goodyear. The next game will begin 24 hours later when the Reds make the return trip to take on the Dodgers on March 3rd, also at 8pm. Both games are scheduled to be live broadcasts – not all of the scheduled games on MLB Network’s schedule will be live.
The current MLB Network broadcast schedule is only set through March 8th. You can see the full schedule here if you want to check out all 46 of the games they will be showing over the next week-ish.
As of this moment, Fox Sports Ohio (and soon to be known as Bally Sports Ohio) has not released their spring training broadcast schedule. When that happens we will be sure to have an update here at Redleg Nation with that information. We also do not have any updates on which services will be carrying the channel – just that we are aware that it’s not available on several service options currently.

Over at The Athletic, C. Trent Rosecrans wrote about Nick Castellanos and how he still doesn’t know how what it is that he likes about the city of Cincinnati….. because he really hasn’t had the chance to experience it despite signing with the team a year ago. But he is looking forward to finding that out this year. Castellanos also spoke about his 2020 season, how he felt about it, and how much he’s looking forward to a full season in 2021.
The Cincinnati Enquirer has at least some of their people out in Goodyear and on the ground now that games are about to begin and the media is allowed to attend. Photographer Sam Greene is working from a specified platformed area that is very far from where they would normally be able to set up, much less be able to roam around to various spots – but he’s making the best of what he’s got access to and there’s a photo gallery that you can check out from Friday’s workouts.
We’ll wrap up this quick afternoon update with some video of Eugenio Suárez taking a few swings in Goodyear.

Suarez looks the part of a guy who lost some weight. I’d love to hear from anyone if he’s improved his agility at all. Also, I’d love to hear if the ball is coming off his bat in the same way as it did when he was heavier.
He says he doesn’t feel like he lost any power.

Awesome Doug. If you can give us a heads up on upcoming games I would appreciate it. I live out in the sticks of upstate NY and stream YouTube TV. They have a terrible tv guide that only extends out to about 6 hours. Any help by all would be great.
I’ve never regarded beautiful upstate NY as the sticks.
I grew up in the “Southern Tier” of west central NY, about 60 miles South of Rochester, on a gravel road a mile from the farmhouse my father was born in. Beautiful state. Letchworth, Stony Brook, and Watkins Glen parks are terrific, finger lakes. Way too much winter for my taste but summer and fall are outstanding.

Thanks I wish it was longer than the 24 hours. I must have had something different last year because I could go beyond 24 hours. Maybe Hulu live? I could look up to a couple of weeks ahead.
Since retiring I dont get out much. I live out in the woods high on a hill. Lived here basically my whole life.
I left at 17 to go to college and never returned to live there. My younger brother inherited the house and property we grew up in/on. Glad it stayed in the family.
I’m from a city 30 miles of Rochester
A few people here from that area
Jazzman and JB – How did you guys come to be Reds fans?
I live just outside of Watkins Glen. My oldest brother was a Reds fan in 69 and I became one as well. I could pick up the games on a.m. radio in the corner of my bedroom but nowhere else in the house. I guess I was born to be a Reds fan. The last Reds game I went to was in 89. I just got out of the Air Force and was driving home and decided to stop and watch the Reds play the Expos at Riverfront. I’ve seen the good and the bad and will always be a fan of the BRM.
Jazzman and JB I’m also in WNY, I live outside of East Aurora, To answer Daytonnati’s question I saw Johnny Bench Play for Buffalo as a kid and have been a Reds fan ever since.
I’m originally from Northern NJ and also started as a Johnny Bench fan. Fifty years later I root from CT.
