Major League Baseball knows what today is. They know what it means to so many of us. And while we aren’t going to have live baseball to watch today, they are doing what they can to give us baseball around the country to watch today. Every single team is going to have at least one game available for the masses to watch across a multitude of platforms today. For the Cincinnati Reds – we’re being treated to a replay of 2019 Opening Day. You can watch the game at 1pm ET on Youtube via the MLB Vault channel. And while it’s not listed specifically, the 2015 Home Run Derby from Cincinnati will be the final of the four that are broadcasted on ESPN2, and will be at midnight ET for you night owls. Here’s the full schedule.
We’ve got a whole lot of things coming later today at Redleg Nation around what would have been opening day. We did, however, want to start out the day with this reminder for everyone given the early start times for so many of these games and options to watch since so many of us are working from home, or some of us, unfortunately, may be just at home unable to work.
As a lifelong Reds fan, Opening Day is always one of the best days of the year. Baseball is back! Except when it’s not. Whenever baseball returns – and I really hope that’s in 2020 – I’ll be excited. But first things first. Let’s get everyone safe and healthy, let’s get everyone a shot at some economic security and stability, let’s get through all this craziness. Then think how much we’ll all appreciate some Reds baseball. Hang in there everyone, and thank you Doug for carrying on.
