The Final | Padres 6 – Reds 2
The Reds offense didn’t get going much during the night game against San Diego. Matt Kemp, Yasiel Puig, and Kyle Farmer all had extra-base hits in the game. Farmer’s triple drove in a run. Nick Senzel would add a sac fly for the other Reds run.
The story of the night for Cincinnati was Sonny Gray making his spring and Reds debut. The right-handed pitcher tossed two shutout frames and had three strikeouts. Matt Wisler threw two shutout innings to follow Gray before giving way to a pair of lefties. Amir Garrett and Cody Reed both threw a perfect inning each. The Padres got things going in the seventh inning when Jesus Reyes gave up a grand slam to Francisco Mejia. You can see the entire box score for the game right here.
I had to look up Farmer. He hit .317 (347 ab’s) in 2017 in the minors. I don’t know how he is defensively, but it might be nice to keep him around for insurance.
Thanks for the commentary
Soon, but they never actually say when they are coming.
At reds camp today. Suerez taking early work with a 1B mitt and taking grounders at first. Interesting..
