Kansas City got out to a quick start, scoring six runs over the first three innings of the game and didn’t look back. Jose Peraza homered for the first time this spring. Eugenio Suarez and Phillip Ervin both added doubles.

Jared Hughes, Ian Krol, Keury Mella, and Lucas Sims all tossed a shutout inning of relief. Vladimir Gutierrez struggled, allowing eight hits in 1.2 innings that led to five earned runs.
