The Final | Cubs 9 – Reds 1
Things didn’t go well for Cincinnati at home in Goodyear. The bullpen ran into problems, allowing eight runs between the 6th, 7th, and 8th innings. Michael Lorenzen tossed two shutout innings. Zach Duke and Jackson Stephens both tossed a shutout inning of relief. Raisel Iglesias also made his first appearance of the spring, allowing a run in his inning of work.
Offensively there wasn’t much going. The team had three hits. Scooter Gennett went 1-3, and Jose Peraza went 1-2. Aristides Aquino came up as a pinch hitter in the bottom of the 9th and smacked a solo home run for the only Reds run of the game. You can see the entire box score for the game here.
