The Reds-Cubs game tonight has been cancelled due to rain. The two teams have scheduled a split doublheader on Saturday, May 19th at 1:10 and 7:10 PM.

It was an interesting move not to try to play tomorrow, as there is little chance of rain most of the day. I am not entirely sure who gets to make that call, but if it is entirely on the Reds they might have decided they would rather play the Cubs when they have a healthier bullpen, and force the Cubs to possibly have to call up a starting pitcher just for the game. Another day without Reds baseball is pretty brutal though. The Reds will have off days in 3 of the first 7 days of the baseball season.

This counts as a Reds sweep, right?

Maybe Hamilton will be out of the lineup (or down) against a lefty, even if he can’t hold a runner…

How about designating Stuart Turner for assignment after carrying him on the 25 man roster all season last year? How inept are they honestly

Lester vs Reed is the reason you don’t play tomorrow, and a high 42 degrees and windy.

      I’m a bigger Cody Reed fan than anyone…but I don’t disagree.

Don’t think a call up pitcher will be worse. You’re to young to remember but back in July 1955 he dodgers call up 2 rookies to pitcher a double header against the Reds and the Reds lost both games. One of the pitchers was Roger Craig.

MLB giving away too may free tv games. Move the game and make people pay to watch it. :<

It was probably because the Cubs had travel set up for their next game, and they’d rather play in warmer conditions.
