The Reds have really embraced this role as a potential spoiler. The club took 3 of 4 against the Cardinals this week. It probably won’t spoil the Cards post-season chances but at least the Reds played them tough in an attempt to spoil any efforts. The club has split with Milwaukee the first two games there and the club had a real shot at winning the series already had it not been for Friday’s late loss. A win today would be 2 of 3 from the Brewers and put them in a real tough spot. Of course we all know the Reds spoiled their own playoff aspirations with their poor play at various times throughout the season.

If you’re looking for things to cheer about and silver linings, the Reds need to go 10-3 starting today to finish the season .500. Perhaps salvaging a non-losing season at this point would be something we can all cheer about!

Discuss the game here Reds fans! Who-Dey and Go Reds!

Jim Day commented yesterday that the team was the loosest he’s seen them all year. Maybe Gritty McGritten was hurting the clubhouse chemistry with his grit and intensity and calling guys out for being late to batting practice? Just a thought.

I suspect they are as “loose” as they are reported to be simply because there are no longer any expectations on their backs. Ownership and management would be well served to factor this into their personnel decisions as they move forward.

Just curious who people feel the top 5 guys they would like to see out of here. Seems to me the most popular are Schu, Ludwick, Jack, Logan, and Hoover.
The bullpen is so bad this year it is difficult to advocate keeping anyone besides Chapman and Diaz. What “personnel decisions” are perceived being evaluated these last few weeks? I am all for a bench of Santiago, Negron, Pena, and Heisey.

        Agree completely.
        Want to be GM?

Totally agree. Time to end the Bernadino-Hannagan trial. Neither one of these two are major league material. And yet, Price continued/continues to put them forward. I’d even use Leake to PH.

I love seeing this team draw walks. Bringing JV on this road trip is paying dividends. He is a living BB totem.

Flipped it over just in time to see Ondrusuck with his gascan on the hill

And there you gave it – thanks Bryan Price – after almost a complete season you still have not learned thst this guy stinks !!!!

Oye vey! Since the start of the season, Reds have NO middle relief. When will it ever end???? So sad, so sad….

  5. RedAlert

Rather see any of those guys they brought up in the pen next year than Homerun Hoover and Longball Logan – neither of those two are even worthy of mop up duty

Where is Michael Lorenzo? He couldn’t do any worse….

      • WhereRUKlu

Last I looked, ML had a 3.13 ERA. Sure it’s AA, but couldn’t do any more harm.

  7. WhereRUKlu

Am I the only one left out there still watching this comedy of errors?

  8. WhereRUKlu

THERE WE GO AGAIN!!!! He’s not named HOOVER for nothing….he sucks like a big vacuum cleaner….

I think that review at first with an 8-run lead in the 9th was uncalled for…

That and the fact it was too close to overrule. Supposed to be incontrovertible evidence. Looked like his foot came off the bag, too.

Hmm it appears like your blog ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I submitted and say,
I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still
new to everything. Do you have any suggestions for rookie blog writers?
    I’d definitely appreciate it.
