Some guy named Billy Hamilton went 3-5 in the contest and hit 2 over the wall homeruns in the loss.  Last season, Hamilton hit 2 homeruns but one was an inside-the-park homerun.  Felix Perez and Mike Hessman added 2 hits each.  Perez drove in his 21st RBI of the year.

Daniel Corcino allowed 6 runs on 9 hits and 3 walks in 5 innings pitched to fall to 1-6 overall on the season with a 7.80 earned run average.  Jose Diaz struck out 2 and walked 2 but was able to keep his perfect 0.00 ERA in tact.  Diaz has pitched in 11 innings this season for the Bats.

Jacksonville 1 – Pensacola 0

David Vidal went 2-4 and collected 2 of the 3 hits for the Blue Wahoos in the loss.

Josh Smith pitched 6 shutout innings in the start, striking out 9 and walking 2 while allowing just 1 hit.  Josh Ravin allowed a run with 2 outs in the 9th for the loss.

Bakersfield 6 – Modesto 3

Juan Perez did a great job in the leadoff spot for the Blaze by going 3-4 with a triple and 2 runs scored.  Ryan Wright capitalized behind him by going 2-4 with a double and 3 RBI.  Yorman Rodriguez also went 2-4 and hit his 4th homerun of the season.  Marquez Smith went 2-4 with a double, single, and an RBI.

Jake Johnson improved to 3-1 on the year by allowing 2 runs on 5 hits and a walk over 7 innings pitched.  He struck out 6.

Low A
Lansing 7 – Dayton 4

Brent Peterson reached base 3 times from the leadoff spot thanks to 2 singles and a walk.  This led to 2 runs scored for the Dragons.  Roberto Ramirez and Wagner Gomez added 2 singles each while Seth Mejias-Brean doubled and had 2 RBI.

Pedro Diaz allowed 5 runs in 5 innings to fall to 0-3.  The runs scored via 6 hits and 2 walks.
