Sad, sad story here:

The father of a Cincinnati Reds draft pick was killed in a one-vehicle accident Saturday morning in Texas and 18-year-old prospect Mason Felt was seriously injured.

Felt, who was selected in June in the fifth round in the amateur baseball draft as the 172nd overall pick, was driving on Interstate 10 west of Ozona, Texas, when his 2004 Ford F-150 truck veered off the road and across traffic as he overcorrected before it overturned, the San Angelo Standard-Times reported.

Felt is a left-handed pitcher from Georgia, drafted out of high school. The Nation’s thoughts are with his family; here’s hoping Felt recovers fully.
