After a thrilling victory in Game 1 (recap), Cincinnati and San Francisco will lock horns again tonight in Game 2. Bronson Arroyo will face the Giants’ Madison Bumgarner

We all know about Arroyo; after a brutal 2011 that saw him break the Reds franchise record for HR allowed, Arroyo bounced back with a nice 2012. In all, the 35 year-old Arroyo went 12-10 with a 3.74 ERA.

You probably also know about Bumgarner. Besides having the best name in the league, the 22 year-old lefty is good: 16-11, 3.37. In the last six weeks, however, Bumgarner has struggled, losing four of his six decisions, with a 5.89 ERA.

Should be another intense, exciting game. Are you ready?

Here’s your lineup and your game preview. Discuss the game here. Go Redlegs.

Does anyone know what happens if the Yanks-O’s game starts tonight (rain delay)? Is TBS going to not show the Reds game?

  2. vicferrari

I see nothing wrong with going with the same line-up. I guarantee if a move is made I will find it odd. But I hear Bailey is back in Cincinnati so he cannot pinch hit…I still would have liked to seen Bailey start tonight, but now it is done, it is what it is,…go Reds. Let’s get a CG shutout from Arroyo and wear out the SF bullpen

This where I stood game time, and I still stand for it. Give that bullpen a night off, Possibly let Arrendondo or Hoover pitch the ninth.

Ludwick has struggled against Bumgarner. Tonight, it would be nice to see Frazier start in LF.

What do you think now? Thank you, it is a theory that proves to work time and time again, you hate enough on a player they prove you wrong

        Nicely said!

Once again, I’m excited for this thing to get started. What a year.

The Orioles-Yankees game was delayed and just started on TBS, so what channel would our game be on? thanks.

      @Reds4life2012: TNT

  6. Reds4life2012

I usually try to keep my Dusty bashing to a minimum, but i looked at some number and wondered why Super Todd wasn’t starting tonight:
    Rolen vs LHP 2012: .234
    Frazier vs LHP 2012: .298
I was all for Rolen starting for experience and defensive reasons, but he didn’t look so sharp at third last night, but hey I’m not in charge of the lineups.

  7. DatFan

So, I’ve just gotten over my hangover from last night’s festivities and I’m ready to cheer on the Reds once again.

No beer tonight, though. I’ll be lucky to make it to work on time tomorrow after staying up to watch the game. 😐

I do not know about you, but i am starting my Columbus Day celebrating a few hours early. Here’s to the new world and a Reds victory

  8. rfay00

With the Reds, isn’t Rolen’s playoff average .000?

    • Truman48

With the Reds, isn’t Rolen’s playoff average .000?

And Joey Votto is 1 for 13. So what is your point?

    • vicferrari

      @AnnapolisHoosier:

I think the idea is the Bronson is better off pitching in spacious AT&T Park than GBP …

What pitcher wouldn’t, Homer Bailey probably would pay for the reconstruction of adding 10 feet to the GABP OF

    • vicferrari

      Agree.

Homer will be ready Tuesday night…….at home.

Nothing wrong with starting Bronson. He has been effective in the second half.I’m actually starting to believe that Dusty knows what he is doing.

I do not think the issue was so much Arroyo, it was Bailey at GABP. All pitchers are at a disadvantage there; most Casual fans realize Bailey is much better on the road, he is a questionable upgrade over Arroyo on the road and Arroyo is definitely an upgrade at GABP. But it is what is and it is not so bad

    • Richard Fitch

Bronson has given up 6 more home runs on the road than he has at GABP (16 to 10)

      • Mwv

So far so good. Still holding my breath.

        Believe!!

  9. Who Dey

I’m only getting law and order on TNT, is it like that for anyone else?

  10. rfay00

I hope that’s not the strikezone tonight.

  11. vicferrari

The TNT crew really harping on the lack of Votto homers since returning. I still have faith he turns it around. How about 2 walks and a 2B with 3 runs scored.

C’mon Arroyo let’s go…I would like to challenge everyone to try not post one negative thing about Arroyo. Do not say Bad Bronson, do not say he looks rough, he is shaky, etc.

The analysis by the TNT L & O replacement crew on the Giants strategy is amazing, they just said the Giants are going to try to avoid going down 0-2 in the series and get on the board early… They quoted Bochy as saying “if the opportunity arrives they will try to put a few on the board” or something to that effect. Obviously the Reds are using the strategy of getting all their outs in the early part of the game.

  12. Mwv

Hahahhaa, these announcers are worse than marty and the cowboy.. they acted like that was gone and it barely went near the warning track of that cavern on the coast.

  13. Mwv

That was such a Bronson inning. Three fly ball outs. Me likey, though softer would be nicer.. I’ll take it.

  14. vicferrari

Hard to believe the # of tweets complaining about canceling 20 year old L&O episodes for playoff baseball.

    They all have WLB hashtags

  15. SGT Ethan

    YES!!!!!!! THAT’S HOW IT’S DONE!!!!!!!!!

  16. jas_428

Ludwick breaks cold streak versus Bumgarner. Glad to be wrong here.

  17. Mwv

Some very non-lazy person should count up the number of times RN posters pleaded for Hanigan to be taken out of the #8 spot in favor of Stubbs.

That would take a couple days.

    • vicferrari

That would take a couple days.

We did not factor in the lack of quality pitches he sees now when you consider who is batting in front of…

  18. vicferrari

Ok,i had the beginning of the game recording while i watched Dexter and now TBS is showing the delayed ALDS. How do i see the Reds?

    TNT c’mon

  19. Sergeant2

I sure hope Frazier’s confidence isn’t crushed by Dusty’s lack of faith, or what Frazier might perceive as a lack of faith by not being penciled in the lineup. In my opinion (be it ever so humble) Rolen and Frazier’s roles should be reversed.

  20. VottoManCrush

Sometimes I forget how great of a pick up Ryan Ludwick was this offseason. I mean the guy hit 26 jacks and 80 RBI, had 2 great catches yesterday and home run today. $2.5 mil very well spent. Love the guy

  21. George Culver

Hate these late games on work nights. Going to bed at 11:00. pissed. 😥

  22. vicferrari

Two innings down for Bronson. He needs to get through 6, or maybe just 5.

No, a shutout, 8 innings would be fine as well

  23. cliff

Have to say, after some soul-searching, I think Sam LeCure is my favourite Red. He’s such a team guy, and if twitter is an indication, a real laid back dude who lives in the moment. It was really close between he, Bruce, and Bailey. I feel like Bruce embodies the reds’ ascent/youth movement best, and I’ve always had an affinity for Bailey, but LeCure tops them all.

  24. jas_428

Angel Hernandez is umping a playoff game!?

    • rfay00

Angel Hernandez is umping a playoff game!?

      Isn’t that who Mes “poked”?

  25. rfay00

Bottom of the order, let’s go Arroyo!

  26. VottoManCrush

I saw Leake yesterday in the dugout

  27. cliff

I love how much attention arroyos pitch variety is getting from the tv guys

  28. George Culver

Looks like it’s the good Bronson tonight. 😀 😀

  29. George Culver

    @Steve Mancuso:
I swear I saw Leake talking to Darren Baker last night.

I saw that too. You did not hallucinate that time.

  30. rfay00

Arroyo has to be putting some spit on those…

  31. VottoManCrush

Bronson’s looking nasty tonight. Brought the filthy stuff.

  32. jas_428

Bronson is washed up. I wish Leake would have gotten start tonight. 😀

  33. CSharpAJ

When Arroyo has that kind of command of his breaking stuff it’s usually a bad thing for the other team.

  34. vicferrari

    Leake yesterday with Dusty’s son.

I thought it was cool because they look like they were really hanging out. They were showing a replay of a few years ago when the son was about 4 or 5 and JT Snow had to carry him off the basepaths as he was about to get trampled at homeplate. A cold shot by the way on Leake about the T-shirts, tasteless but still funny

  35. Richard Fitch

Votto looks like an ordinary player.

    Or not.

  36. sunbreakthedawn

The longer we stay in the playoffs the more likely Votto returns to form.

  37. Mwv

Announcers starting to annoy me when they talk about Joey. The guy is an absolute machine when it comes to getting on base. The very definition of a professional hitter. If he wants to choke up on that bat and get on base for his team in the playoffs rather than trying to find his “lost power” I think I’m okay with that.

    • Richard Fitch

Absolutely. It’s even starting to creep into the talk here. He’s still getting on base at a superhuman clip. The HR was never the central part of Joey’s game.

  38. rfay00

That infield fly is really getting some national notice.

  39. Mwv

Rolen!!!!! Huge run there, way to go big guy! That is why Joey choking up and getting on base for his team is so huge.

  40. vicferrari

    Votto should be leading off.

Hanigan should bat 2nd, Frazier should have started in left, Homer should have started tonight, but not pinch hit last night, Rolen should be benched and Votto shoudl not be running the bases…

    • vicferrari

Yeah agree. The team is really struggling.

I hope you realized the sarcasm, I got exited as I was posting this when Rolen got that hit

  41. jas_428

The reverse psychology thing is working tonight.

  42. cliff

Yeah, definitely should’ve started Frazier. He’d have homered by now.

  43. Sergeant2

Like I said earlier, I’m glad Frazier wasn’t penciled in the lineup tonight. ➡ 😀

  44. Mwv

HANIGAN!!!!!!!!!! Oh baby, getting it done this inning!

  45. George Culver

Rolen has become the quintessential opposite field singles hitter. But we will take a big inning from the bottom of the order and be thrilled.

  46. eastcoast redsfan

The Reds are being professional hitters. Havent seen this in a while.

  47. vicferrari

C’mon Scotty, show us some veterniness.

How about that veterniness, I feel there is going to be a lot of veterniness exhibited by this team if they can keep the core together for 5 years

  48. Sergeant2

Sing along: Roll Out The Barrels We’ll Have A Barrel Of Fun Woooooo!!! Go Reds Go! 4-0 Reds top 4th.

  49. rfay00

Let’s just flip the lineup over here.

  50. GoRedlegs

Don’t look now, but Stubbs just had a pretty decent at-bat…even with the FC. 😕

  51. AnnapolisHoosier

Does anyone know if Mike Leake, Devin Mesoraco and Logan Ondrusek are in the dugout with the team? Just curious. Has anyone seen them in the dugout on the broadcast?

They showed Leake in the dugout yesterday. He was sitting with Darren Baker and it looked like he was cracking Darren up. It was kind of cool to see.

  52. sunbreakthedawn

I’m very glad Mesoraco is getting all this time to travel with and watch Ryan Hanigan.

  53. Sergeant2

Where’s Marty? Surely he’s not going to miss a playoff game is he?

    • Richard Fitch

Where’s Marty? Surely he’s not going to miss a playoff game is he?

I heard him busting Mark Sheldon’s chops a couple of innings ago.

    • Sergeant2

Where’s Marty? Surely he’s not going to miss a playoff game is he?

      DOH! Never mind

  54. George Culver

    Arroyo, still the gold glove

  55. vicferrari

Is it too early to start talking about what we cannot talk about? Someone mentioned it 2 Friday’s ago and I felt it was a jinx to even mention not saying anything even though Chris Welsh mentioned it about 10 times every inning. SO it obviously was not a jinx, eventhough no one actually posted what we should not talk about

Entirely too early for that kinda thing. 6+ is the rule.

I really screwed this one up guys, I take full responsibility. This night could have been historically, I just hope it does ruin everyone’s Columbus Day. Spend some time with your families and focus on what is important as I try to live with myself

  56. GoRedlegs

@vicferrari: WAAAAYY too early. I assume you’re talking about whether or not he’ll go 8 innings, and you can’t tell that until later 😉

  57. RedsFan19

Why is Arroyo never mentioned in comeback player of the year talks? Last year he was “Chasing Eric Milton”, this year is is a legitimate horse. WTG Bronson Arroyo. If Arroyo pitched his home games at AT&T, he would be a Cy Young candidate!!!

  58. Mwv

Whew, Cozart just looks dreadful so far.

Really? Looking good in this at bat to me, rookie playing his second playoff game and he’s making a tough at bat here.

  59. GoRedlegs

Whew, Cozart just looks dreadful so far.

    lolnope

  60. George Culver

Whew, Cozart just looks dreadful so far.

In hind sight Great AB

  61. Richard Fitch

Bumgarner’s velocity has gone off a cliff. He’s about done.

  62. George Culver

How about a splash into McCovey Cove from JoeyMVP…

Opposite field to left is his thing

  63. George Culver

Whole lot of heads hanging in the Giants dugout

  64. hermanbates

who is this…Votto character? never heard of him.

  65. Mwv

That Votto guy, how dare he choke up on that bat with 2 strikes! Man can anyone get him out when he digs in like that? He’s inhuman.

  66. SGT Ethan

Oh, is this a beautiful game so far…

  67. Mwv

It looks like Votto could hit .400 if he didn’t try to hit with power all year.

I was thinking the same thing the other day I just didn’t want to type something like that on here and have a bunch of people laugh at me. Good to know I’m not the only one.

  68. George Culver

Well, bed time for Bonzo, switching to audio only with the lights off. Just like when I was 10 years old. Good night all, see ya Tuesday? 😀 😀 😀

  69. RichmondRed

Alleged paraplegic and generally inept Joey Votto manages another base hit. Bye Bye Bum-Gardner

  70. vicferrari

A lot of great sporting events going on right now and there are still people really annoyed tuning in hoping to see Gretchen Egolf as a young bride trying to get away with murder.

    • vicferrari

A lot of great sporting events going on right now and there are still people really annoyed tuning in hoping to see Gretchen Egolf as a young bride trying to get away with murder.

There are some really great games going on, outside of being a legit fan since 1982 (and I mean 1982), this game kind of sucks. I hope it stays that way…

  71. GoRedlegs

Welp there goes that. Make it a one-hitter, Bronson.

  72. CSharpAJ

Oh well, it still doesn’t take away the fact that Arroyo is still in control.

    • vicferrari

Oh well, it still doesn’t take away the fact that Arroyo is still in control.

      • vicferrari

        Thanks Bronson

  73. hoodlum

Is Belt related to Joe Simpson? This is reminding me of one of the many reasons I dislike the Braves — having to listen to guys like him. I figure that any minute he is going to start talking about how Andruw Jones is going to have a better career than Willie Mays.

  74. vicferrari

Lincecum warming up in the bullpen to pitch the last three innings. That means he probably won’t start any of the games in Cincinnati. Vogelsong in Game Three. Cain in Game Four. Bumgarner in Game Five. Maybe Lincecum could pitch Game Five if he only goes three tonight.

What are you talking about, here’s hoping we see Matt Cain 2013

Well, bed time for Bonzo, switching to audio only with the lights off.Just like when I was 10 years old. Good night all,see ya Tuesday?

You are going to miss celebrating. discovering the new world.

  75. Mwv

Bruce is definitely right on the ball in this series. I’m kind of drooling at what he’ll do back home.

  76. Mwv

Wow, Giants fans sound desperate for something to cheer about.

  77. Sergeant2

Stupid Giants fans cheering for their team, the nerve of some fans.

  78. Richard Fitch

Hi guys, this is Cole, Son of Sultan.I’m 12 and I’ll be commenting for my dad tonight.

    Bring it, Cole.

  79. vicferrari

C’mon Scotty, show us some veterniness.

Scotty showed some veterniness and Arroyo got the rest covered. Do the Reds need anymore?

  80. vicferrari

Six excellent IP from Arroyo. I’d definitely have someone warming up next inning, though.

No way, he goes at least 8, why mess with success?

  81. hermanbates

He’s got one more in him. At least.

  82. SGT Ethan

75 pitches for Bronson so far – if he keeps pitching like he has, he can throw 8…

  83. RC

    A) Did the announcer just asy “Stubbs goes down the line”?
    B) Where did they get these guys?

    Oh, and C) Hey, Cole!

  84. SGT Ethan

Lincecum has been impressive – especially with that weird non-warm-up warm-up. Came right in and brought it…

  85. hermanbates

October 7th, 2012. The day which will be remembered for the emergence of the most expensive middle reliever in the history of baseball.

  86. CSharpAJ

Not that it’s a huge deal but I swear the 1B caught that throw as he was running back to the dugout.

  87. rfay00

@RC: After the 6th, they claimed Arroyo has retired 19 out of 20 hitters. Math is a little off.

  88. vicferrari

@vicferrari: What if he starts to lose control?

Then take him out, you do not get extra points if you use relief pitchers. The philosophy seems to be bring in Marshall no matter what. I say let Bronson go until he gives up a run or at least they load the bases…why see if someone else does not have it tonight if you have a pitcher who can throw 110 to 120 and is cruising

  89. RC

I rewound just to be sure – Belt’s foot was still on the bag. But that starting-to-run thing he does is just inviting the umps to make a call. I hope they do at some point.

  90. rfay00

So how long does Arroyo get? All 9?

  91. rfay00

I say Bronson in the 8th, have Arrendondo and Hoover warming up for righties and lefties.

  92. Mwv

That Votto guy can get on bases sometimes eh?

  93. vicferrari

I’m glad Bronson got through the seventh. I would have left him out there to face Pence.

But I just don’t understand why not have someone warming up in the bullpen. It’s the postseason and we have a day off tomorrow. If Pence had gotten on base, we really needed Marshall in there to face Belt.

Sometimes the best decisions are the ones you do not make, but you make an excellent point

  94. rfay00

Where’s the guy on here who said the Reds were only going to score 4 runs this whole series?

  95. rfay00

Joey Votto should be awarded 1st base every plate attempt by default.

    Or just flip a coin…lol

  96. Mwv

BRUUUUUUCEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! Nail in the coffin. Let’s end this Redlegs!

  97. Abel

I love this. This makes up for last night being so nerve wracking.

Both are fun when we when though!

    • Sergeant2

I love this. This makes up for last night being so nerve wracking.

Both are fun when we when though!

I agree. Last night was a roller coaster ride wasn’t it.

    • CSharpAJ

I was hoping to have it wrapped up by midnight, but I guess that was too much to ask.

This is when I’m happy to be in St. Louis.

  98. Sergeant2

    I smell a big inning!

You have a nose for victory my friend. Good call.

  99. SGT Ethan

Mijares didn’t look terribly happy right there…

  100. rfay00

I wish Frazier could get some ABs in. No need to keep Rolen in at this point.

  101. redfanapf

Isn’t it fun to watch the Reds beat on other teams’ not-so-great bullpens? What an awesome game, everyone getting in act.

  102. vicferrari

I felt last night, the Giants lost the game and played bad and the Reds just had to show up. I do not feel that way tonight. I feel a team with a great regular season peaking at the right time. As Doc says, they have the “it factor”

  103. cliff

If Jay Bruce was any kind of clutch hitter, it’d be 7-0 right now.

    • GoRedlegs

      @cliff:

If Jay Bruce was any kind of clutch hitter, it’d be 7-0 right now.

Sounding a bit like Marty right now 😛

    • vicferrari

If Jay Bruce was any kind of clutch hitter, it’d be 7-0 right now.

      he needed the exercise

  104. vicferrari

Is Bochy getting a little desperate?

  105. RC

I care not for the time! (I’m off tomorrow. 😀 )

  106. Sergeant2

I love it when Managers leave the dugout. Usually a sign things are not going well for his team.

  107. redfanapf

@vicferrari: Love having the “it factor.” Remember how reds couldn’t hit in September? Me neither!

  108. rfay00

Karma for cheering the Cueto injury?

  109. Mwv

Hanigan with another nail. This is fun.

  110. GoRedlegs

Hanigan gets yet another hit. And yet he’s still batting…you know what? Never mind. We’re up 7-0* in the NLDS. I need to stop whining about lineups.
*A Stubbs hit?! Make it 8-0!

  111. Billy Joe in Chi-Town

Stubbs? Now we’ve seen everything! Time to save some for Cincy.

  112. Mwv

Stubbs!!! This is getting ugly in the best possible way. Send a message to the rest of the league tonight Reds!

  113. Sergeant2

If the Reds keep scoring runs I don’t care if the game ends at 3:00am. Of course I’m retired and get up when I damm well please. Woooo! 8-0 Reds top 8th.

    • Mwv

If the Reds keep scoring runs I don’t care if the game ends at 3:00am. Of course I’m retired and get up when I damm well please. Woooo! 8-0 Reds top 8th.

WHERE ARE MY BELOVED REDLEGS AND WHAT HAVE THESE MASHING IMPOSTORS DONE WITH THEM?!

  115. RC

I think that maybe what this team needed was a little adversity. Votto goes down, they bear down. Cueto goes out, they bear down.

Coincidence, maybe. But these guys seem to respond when bad things happen. That’s an amazing attribute.

  116. Abel

Woah guys, cool it, might want to save up some of those runs for Tuesday… and for the Nationals.

  117. Billy Joe in Chi-Town

Wilson Valdez. The MLB equivalent of the slaughter rule.

Wilson Valdez. The MLB equivalent of the slaughter rule.

  119. RichmondRed

I hope this Valdez thing is happening to just give him some reps

  120. vicferrari

This is really just stupid having Arroyo bat here.

not exactly stupid, as I am for letting a pitcher get a shutout…but if Cueto cannot go and Bailey does a GABP special and Latos has an off night, it might be smart to think about Arroyo as your game 5 stopper and pull him hear

  121. GoRedlegs

I think they sent Valdez out to speed up the inning so Bronson doesn’t have to work so hard to stay loose.

  122. rfay00

Why do Reds hit well established pitchers better than rookies?

  123. rfay00

Aubrey Huff…talk about a guy who just took a crap this year

  124. Sergeant2

To tell you the truth, I don’t care much for putting Frazier in the game during garbage time, like he’s some sort of scrub. I just don’t like it.

  125. cliff

Dusty can really do no wrong so far in the playoffs. Maybe he does know what he’s doing and handicaps the team during the regular season just for the fun in the challenge.

  126. Mwv

Who wants to play the next game in SF?

Nope. I want them to finish this at home. It will be a roar the likes of which has not been heard in a while.

    • hermanbates

      This.

  127. hermanbates

I’m having so much fun I can’t handle it. I hate that it’s been years and years and years since I’ve had this much fun.

  128. Glenn Braggs Back

Let’s not mess up that beautiful 0 on the board.

  129. vicferrari

I don’t quite get this pitching switch.

I think Casillo is their closer and after last night he wanted to send him off unscathed, Bochy knows how to manage his pitchers..he saved the humiliation for Mota

  130. RC

@Sergeant2: I was a little… nonplussed… that Valdez pinch hit instead of Frazier. I mean, I don’t wanna be that guy, but Dusty’s just so darned, uh Dusty-esque. I can’t hep it.

  131. rfay00

I am leaving work early Tuesday to watch this sweep.

  132. Mwv

Hate to see walks but I do like getting Hoover some work in October to get a little confidence. He’s been so good for us in limited time this year.

  133. vicferrari

Who wants to play the next game in SF?

    Homer Bailey

  134. Sergeant2

I would like to have seen Arroyo get the complete game, but this is the playoffs and the Reds have the best bullpen in baseball. In the playoffs it would be stupid not to use overwhelming firepower to defeat your enemy if you have the arsenal to do so.

  135. Mwv

Wow, Todd crushed that.. nice play at third.

  136. SGT Ethan

Wilson’s beard – holy crap, is that amazing. Dude could be a Civil War general…

    • hermanbates

      @SGT Ethan:

Wilson’s beard – holy crap, is that amazing.Dude could be a Civil War general…

he probably was. if there’s one man on earth that has discovered either black magic to keep one immortal or developed a legitimate time machine, Brian Wilson is my guess.

  137. sunbreakthedawn

I really like how Heisey ran out that pop foul.

  138. RC

What is wrong with Brian Wilson? Not his arm, I mean, just in general, what’s his issue?

    What are you rebelling against?

  139. GoRedlegs

@RC: His dad was apparently a huge perfectionist, and his personality kind of rebelled against that.

  140. Sergeant2

@Sergeant2: So you would rather him go a week without playing? I do aggre that he’s good.

I don’t know if one at bat is going to shake off any rust. By the way it agree not “aggre”

  141. hermanbates

@RC: Read a story awhile back on ESPN I think. His dad was an army dad, used to make Brian shovel his driveway in Vermont(or whatever northeasern state he’s from) over and over again, or go and cut down trees for hours for disciplinary purposes. His father passed away from sickness(cancer I believe) and he’s now this outlandish personality. Really very fascinating.

  142. Sergeant2

Wilson’s problem is he became a legend in his own mind.

  143. GoRedlegs

@CI3J: I’m personally scared of either one of them, because I don’t want to play the Nats, but I REALLY don’t want to play the team who can beat the Nats.

    • Sergeant2

@CI3J: I’m personally scared of either one of them, because I don’t want to play the Nats, but I REALLY don’t want to play the team who can beat the Nats.

The fact of the matter is neither one of those teams want to have to play the Reds.

  144. vicferrari

If the Reds do end up winning this series, am I the only one who hopes the Cards beat the Nats in a hard fought 5 game series?

The Cards scare me a little less than the Nats, plus if they go 5 games it should (theoretically) wear them down a bit before they face the Reds.

You are not the only one. I want to beat the WLB and have them feel the shame of the Reds champagne, hopefully hitting Carpenter with a cork or 2

  145. vicferrari

Way to go, DO NOT LET POSEY BEAT YOU!!

  146. RC

Guys with legs that skinny should not opt for the high socks.

  147. Abel

Arredondo isn’t very good. I haven’t felt good with him in the game for a long time. Not since ondrusek was good too.

  148. VottoManCrush

Well Giants, enjoy the plane ride to Cincinnati. Try not to be too demoralized.

  149. Mwv

Wooooooooooooo! 2-0. Domination. Looking forward to the next game. What a year, what a year.. what a year. Night guys.

  150. SGT Ethan

Shut out, huge bats, HUGE win – boy would it be nice to give Cueto more time to heal up!

  151. DatFan

What a great win. This win chased away some demons, for sure. Can’t wait for Tuesday.

  152. Sergeant2

Looking good, my friends looking good. Looking forward to Tuesday. Go Cincinnati Redlegs Go!! Adios Amigos.

  153. RichmondRed

At first, I wanted the Nats. But even though I think the Cards are tougher, the satisfaction of sweeping them in a fourth game at their place makes me grin. BP delivers the walk off homer after Cueto/Carpenter pitch almost a complete game shutouts… I would cry.
