Let’s recap today’s titanic struggle….

Philadelphia 6
Cincinnati 2

W: R. Halladay (9-7)
L: M. Leake (7-9)

–So today, the Reds let this minor league call up, some kid named Johnny Voto, I think, start and he did really well for himself. 2-3 with a walk. We’ll see is he can sustain that kind of production.

–Jay Bruce = Good. Two doubles and a homer. I know we say this all the time, but if he could just filter out some of the bad streaks, it’s scary to think about the numbers he could put up.

–The bullpen was very solid today. One hit and no walks in 6 2/3 innings. You can’t ask for more than that.

–Mike Leake was extra Leake-y today. Weirdly, that’s pretty much it. Lots of good things about the Reds, but Leake was so bad the game was over almost before it got started.

–Joey Votto is back! And he did fine! Hooray!

–We’ve been having some power issues here at the Linden residence, so I’m going to cease further rambles and get this posted before it goes down again.
