AAA

Gwinnett 11 – Louisville 7

Henry Rodriguez went 4-5 with 2 doubles, Felix Perez went 3-5 with 2 doubles, Brian Peacock went 1-1 with a homer.

Pedro Villarreal started and lit up big time, going 1.1, giving up 8 hits, 9 runs (8 earned) and 3 walks. Nick Christiani threw 2 scoreless innings (4 hits/ 1 walk) and Will Ohmann threw 2 scoreless innings (2 hits / 2 walks).

High A

The Blaze also had the day off.

Low A

Fort Wayne 6 – Dayton 3

None of the Dragons had more than one hit, Nick O’Shea was the only one to have an extra base hit (double).

Shoddy fielding hurt the bats (3 errors), Stalin Gerson threw 5 innings, allowing 5 runs on 6 hits, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts, but only one of the runs was earned. (Of course, he made one of those errors himself, so he’s not blameless.) Carlos Gonzalez and Lucas O’Rear threw hitless innings, O’Rear had 2 K’s. Dan Jensen threw 2 innings, allowing 1 unearned run.

Rookie

Idaho Falls 3 – Billings 1

Beau Amaral was 2-3 with a walk and Seth Mejian-Brean was 2-4 with a triple.

Ismael Guillon threw 6 shutout innings, allowing only 3 hits, walking 1 and striking out 10.

Bennett Klimesh couldn’t hold the lead though, taking the blown save and the loss, giving up all 3 runs in 1.1 innings (on 3 hits). Alejandro Chacin threw the final 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing only one hit.

AZL Cubs 17 – AZL Reds 7

Glad I didn’t have to sit through this game, the Cubs collected 25 hits off Reds pitching and the Reds collected 5 errors. (They claim the time of the game was 3:06, I have a hard time believing that.) The Cubs had 8 of 9 players with multiple hits (including one with 5 hits and another with 4). Yikes.

Jonathan Reynoso was 2-5, Tanner Rahier was 2-5, Avain Rachel was 2-5, Wilfrel Estevez was 2-4 with a double.

The only pitcher worth mentioning was Ryan Fennell, who threw 1.2, allowing only an unearned run on 2 hits.
