Let’s recap today’s titanic struggle….
FINAL
Milwaukee 1
Cincinnati 2
W: J. Cueto (12-5)
L: M. Fiers (3-4)
S: A. Chapman (17)
BOX SCORE
POSITIVES
–Sweep!!!
–Johnny Cueto is simply a best. Cueto again pitched brilliantly for seven innings. allowing one run on eight hits. He struck out nine and walked one. This guy is so good.
–Wilson Valdez had two hits, including an RBI single. He also scored a run.
–Brandon Phillips was 2-3 with a sac fly RBI.
NEGATIVES
–None.
NOT-SO-RANDOM THOUGHTS
–I gotta be honest; I didn’t pay much attention to the game today. It was playing in the background, but I was enthralled by the Barry Larkin Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
–The Reds are now 15 games over .500, and they’ve won 11 of 13. For now, the Reds have more wins than anyone in the National League (though the Natinals will tie them in that category soon).
–Ryan Hanigan had a 100mph fastball fouled off his wrist in the ninth. Hope that doesn’t linger.
–Cueto is 12-5 with a 2.23 ERA. Magnificent.
–For the first time in 75 games, no homers were hit in a ballgame at Great American Ballpark.
–Simply a beautiful day to be a Reds fan.
