Sean Gallagher (6-5, 5.20 ERA) took the loss, giving up 3 runs on 2 hits and 5 walks over 4 innings. Kanekoa Texeira pitched a perfect 1.2 innings, dropping his ERA to 0.98. Texeira has allowed just 3 earned runs in 27.2 innings for the Bats.

Joey Gathright was 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored. The only Louisville player to collect more than one hit was Willie Harris who went 2-for-2 .

Jackson 6 – Pensacola 0

The Blue Wahoos were held to just two hits last night.

On the mound, Kyle Lotzkar only lasted 4.2 innings, giving up all 6 runs on 7 hits. He didn’t walk a batter and struck out 8. Wirfin Obispo finished the game with 3 shutout innings, allowing just two base runners and striking out two.

High A
Modesto 6 – Bakersfield 4

Dominic D’Anna went 4-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Donald Lutz was 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI.

Daniel Renken pitched 8 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks. He struck out 6.

Low A
South Bend 12 – Dayton 4

Joe Terry was 2-for-4 with a stolen base, an RBI and a run scored. Yorman Rodriguez was also 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Dan Jensen (3-8, 5.85 ERA) gave up 6 runs, 4 earned, on 9 hits and 2 walks in his 3.1 inning start.

The Rookie level took each of their games to extra innings to save the organization from getting swept last night.

Billings 4 – Great Falls 3

The Mustangs won in the bottom of the 10th on a walk-off wild pitch, setup by a one-out double earlier in the inning by centerfielder Sammy Diaz. Diaz was 1-for-4 with the double and run scored. Carlos Sanchez had the walk later that inning that pushed Diaz to third. Sanchez was 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, the walk, and a run scored.

Wes Mugarian allowed 2 earned runs on 6 hits and 2 walks over 5 innings.

The bullpen pitched 5 shutout innings. Joel Bender followed the starter with three perfect innings, striking out 6 batters in the process. Nick Routt was credited with the win after throwing the final two hitless innings.

AZL Reds 8 – AZL Brewers 7
It took 10 innings in Arizona, but the AZL Reds won in extras, also. A bases loaded walk to Tanner Rahier gave the Reds the go ahead run in the top of the 10th inning.

The Reds collected 10 team hits, but no player had more than 1 hit. The aforementioned Rahier was 1-for-3 with 3 walks and 2 RBI.

Henry Rodriguez started a rehab assignment last night in his first game back from a thumb injury. Rodriguez went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI while manning third base. Denis Phipps played for the 5th game of this rehab assignment and went 1-for-4 with a run scored.

Jose Williams allowed 4 hits, no walks and 3 runs in his 3-inning start.
