Felix Perez was 4-5 with 2 doubles, Cody Puckett was 2-4 with a double and a walk, Bill Rhinehart was 2-4 with a double.
It was a bullpen night for the Bats, Tim Gustafson started, but only went 4 innings, allowing 7 hits, 2 walks and 2 runs. Carlos Fisher threw a scoreless inning, J.J. Hoover got the win with a hitless 8th, and Donnie Joseph picked up his 3rd save (and kept his ERA at 0) with a scoreless 9th.
AA
Brian Peacock was the only Wahoo with 2 hits, as they only garnered 6 on the night.
Tim Crabbe got the loss, going 5 innings, allowing 8 hits and 4 walks, striking out 5, while allowing 4 runs (3 earned). Brian Pearl threw 2 scoreless innings, as did Mark Serrano.
High A
Travis Mattair went 3-4 with a double and homer and Billy Hamilton had both a SB (92) and caught stealing (19).
Josh Smith started and threw 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks, striking out 7. Blaine Howell threw 2 scoreless innings of relief (though he gave up 5 hits). Andrew Brackman (who I’m assuming is on some type of rehab assignment?) took the loss, giving up a run on a hit and a walk (though he struck out 2).
Low A
Lake County 5 – Dayton 2 (12 innings)
The Dragons could only muster 6 hits and the only extra base one was a homer by Juan Perez. It extended Perez hitting streak to 10 games.
Nice start by Stalin Gerson, who threw 6 shutout innings, 2 hits, a walk, and 3 strikeouts.
Ryan Kemp threw a scoreless 7th, but the Dragons couldn’t hold the 2-0 lead in the 9th.
Rookie
Brennan May went 4-4 with a 2 doubles and a triple. Jesse Winker went 3-3 with a double and a walk, Sammy Diaz went 2-4 with a walk, Spencer Dickinson went 2-5, Carlos Sanchez went 2-5 with a double, Gabriel Rosa went 2-5 with a double.
Jimmy Moran threw 1.1 scoreless innings of relief, Sean Lucas got his first save, with a 1/3 of an inning.
Rehabbing Donald Lutz was 4-4 with 2 doubles and a triple, rehabbing Denis Phipps was 2-4 with a homer, Ty Washington was 2-5 with a homer, Wilfrel Estevez was 2-4.
Luke Moran threw 2 scoreless innings and Jackson Stephens threw one.
