Minor League Player of the Day: Reds 2011 First Round draft pick, Robert Stephenson, in his professional debut, threw 5 innings, allowed 0 earned runs, only 3 hits, walked only 1, and struck out 8.


Louisville 4 – Scranton/WB 2

Joey Gathright was 2-4 (.307/.365/.341), Cody Puckett was 2-2 with a homer, Dioner Navarro kept up his hot hitting with a homer.

Ryan Feierabend went 5.2 allowing 2 runs on 3 hits with 4 walks and 3 strikeouts. Scott Carroll threw an inning of scoreless relief, Donnie Joseph (1.1) and Jordan Smith (1.0) had hitless outings. Joseph got his first win at AAA and Smith picked up his 7th save.


The South beat the North 6-2. Blue Wahoo’s who played were Ryan LaMarre (0-3), Josh Fellhauer (0-1 BB), J.C. Suburan threw a scoreless inning.

High A

The California League is at their All Star Break. The game was played last night, but couldn’t find any details on it.

Low A

The East squad beat the West 18-2. Ryan Wright went 1-3 and drove in a run.


Pioneer League

Billings 2 – Missoula 1 10 innings

First professional start for 2011 Reds first round draft pick, Robert Stephenson. He went 5 innings, allowed 3 hits, an unearned run, walked 1 and struck out 8. WOW, now THAT is a professional debut.

The Mustangs bullpen was pretty sharp also, Nolan Becker (1.2), Bennett Klimesh (1.1), Nick Routt (1.2), and Matt Wiley (who got the win with .1 inning of work) held Missoula scoreless. Routt struck out 5 in his 1.2, but also walked 2.

The Mustangs would only muster 8 hits and again, the only multi-hit game belonged to SS Brandon Dailey, who again went 2-4.
