Let’s recap tonight’s titanic struggle….

FINAL — 10 innings
Cincinnati 2
Cleveland 1

W: N. Hagadone (1-0)
L: A. Chapman (4-3)
BOX SCORE

POSITIVES
–Mike Leake allowed only one run on six hits in seven innings of work. Really nice outing.

–Sean Marshall pitched two strong, scoreless innings. He’s good.

–Zack Cozart had three hits, including a double, in the leadoff spot. Joey Votto had a double and an infield single. Willie Harris had a pinch-hit double in the tenth inning (!).

NEGATIVES
–After the Reds had taken a 2-1 lead in the top of the tenth, Aroldis Chapman gave up a single and a walk-off homer.

NOT-SO-RANDOM THOUGHTS
–Reds have lost two in a row. Panic!

–Dusty Baker really needs to stop asking hitters to bunt. It is almost always a terrible idea.

–Are we going to hear people calling for Sean Marshall to be the closer now? (Well, I’m calling for that, but not because Chapman isn’t capable of filling the role. I just want Chapman in the rotation.)

–I didn’t enjoy it, but…

–Two one-run games, and they couldn’t have been two more different games. In the end, the Reds need to win tomorrow to avoid the sweep.
