Minor League Player of the Day: Ex-Red and Louisville Bats 3B, Willie Harris went 4-4.

AAA

Syracuse 6 – Louisville 2

Recently demoted, Willie Harris went 4-4, Joey Gathright, a 31 year old player recently signed out of an independent league, was 3-5 and drove in 2 runs. He’s hit in all 6 games he’s played in since being signed, and Danny Dorn went 2-5 with a double. Kris Negron went 2-4 with a double and a walk. The Bats had 12 hits, but could only muster 2 runs. (3 for 16 RISP)

Only effective pitcher was Carlos Fisher, who threw a scoreless 9th.

AA

Jackson 4 – Pensacola 2

Brodie Greene was 2-3 with a double, RBI, and a walk.

Curtis Partch and Justin Freeman threw 2 hitless/scoreless innings of relief.

Chris Berset went 1-3 in his first game in Pensacola.

High A

Bakersfield 5 – Inland Empire 3

Ace Tony Cingrani threw 5.1 innings, allowing 4 hits and 1 run, walking 1 and striking out 2. (Not sure why he was lifted at this point…) Kyle McMyne threw 1.2 hitless innings.

Travis Mattair went 3-5 with a double, Devin Lohman went 2-5 with a double, Niko Vasquez went 2-4 with a double and a walk, Juan Duran went 2-5, and James Ewing went 2-3 with a double.

Low A

West Michigan 8 – Dayton 0

Kurtis Muller went 3-4 and Redleg Nation Spotlight Player, Sean Buckley went 2-3 with a double. That was about the total of the Dragon’s offense.

Dan Jensen got shelled in the start, giving up 6 earned runs on 6 hits in 3 innings. He also walked 3 and didn’t have a K. James Allen stemmed the bleeding with 2 hitless innings of relief, striking out 3, but the damage had been done. Michael Dennhardt threw a scoreless/hitless inning also.
