Jay Bruce is on another hot streak. On Monday, Bruce was named NL Player of the Week. For the week of April 23rd, Bruce led the league in total bases, slugging percentage, and tied for first with four homeruns.

Bruce is batting a .296/.337/.617 after the first month of the season with an OPS+ of 156. He leads the team in runs, RBI, hits, homeruns, and total bases. He is second in stolen bases with three, just one fewer than Drew Stubbs. Of qualified batters, Bruce leads the team in AVG, SLG and OPS. (Todd Frazier is currently sporting the highest slash line on the team in just 13 at-bats.)

Bruce is amongst the National League leaders in several offensive categories, including 2nd in league in homeruns, 5th in RBI, 4th in SLG, and 8th in OPS.

Maybe this guy should be batting cleanup?
