Aroldis Chapman has now pitched nine innings this season (over six games). He has not allowed a run, and surrendered only three hits. Lance notes that he has thrown 121 pitches; 85 of them have been strikes.
Here’s the amazing part: Chapman has faced 30 hitters and he has struck out 17 of them.
Thinking about how good Aroldis could be as a starter makes my head hurt. If the Reds tried, I’m not sure they could have devised a better way to minimize the value they are getting out of Chapman.
Please, Redlegs, get Chapman back in the rotation post haste.
