Let’s recap today’s titanic struggle….
FINAL
Washington 4
Cincinnati 1
W: E. Jackson (1-0)
L: H. Bailey (0-2)
BOX SCORE
POSITIVES
–None.
NEGATIVES
–This putrid offense just got two-hit by Edwin Jackson.
NOT-SO-RANDOM THOUGHTS
–The Reds have lost five of six. In those six games, they have scored a grand total of ten runs. They’ve scored four runs in the 32 innings of this series.
–Wow. According to Joel Luckhaupt, this is the fewest number of runs the Reds have scored through nine games in the modern era. Unreal.
–I don’t know what else to say in this recap. I’m almost dumbfounded that the offense has been so bad. They are going to start hitting soon, and we definitely need to be patient. It’s just very difficult to watch this team right now, though.
–The Reds try to avoid the sweep in Washington tomorrow afternoon. Milton is not happy:
*I’m kidding, folks. There is certainly reason to be concerned about this offense, which has been awful. But it’s WAY too early to start giving up.
