–Zack Cozart. 3 for 4, and just a double short of the cycle. That was a long home run, too. We may enjoy watching him play this year.
–Joey Votto hit his first home run of the year. He, Bruce, and Cozart are all on pace to go long 81 times this year. Take it to the bank.
–The Reds sold out their first two games for the first time ever, apparently. That’s good news. Payroll and attendance are directly related, Reds fans.
NEGATIVES
–Mat Latos, as much as it pains me to type this, was not very good. I guess the Reds lost that trade.
–The bullpen was also really not good. Bad night for the pitchers overall. Bad, bad, bad.
NOT-SO-RANDOM THOUGHTS
–So, I guess the season is over now. That was a nice run though, huh? Okay, I’m kidding. Don’t panic. Mat Latos is mostly going to be very good; also the Marlins are a good team. There’s no shame in this loss.
–Tomorrow the Reds will go for the series win with Bronson Arroyo on the mound. Hold your breath.
