The Reds clearly have the upper hand here.
As I’ve said before, I don’t object to CoCo’s return; it’s just a matter of how much they are going to commit to him. In that vein, I found this analysis by John Fay interesting:
The holdup with the Reds and Cordero could be that heÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s going to have to swallow his pride a bit to take their offer. The club turned down his $12 million option. He turned down a two-year deal from the club. My guess that the offer now for one year is less than what he would have gotten per year under the two-year deal.
