Let’s recap tonight’s titanic struggle….

L: R. Dempster (10-12)
S: F. Cordero (33)
BOX SCORE
POSITIVES
–Another brilliant outing for Mike Leake: eight innings, one run allowed on six hits. This was Leake’s final start in what can only be described as a very good sophomore campaign. On the year, Leake is 12-9 with a 3.86 ERA. I’ll take that.
–Edgar Renteria went 3-4 with a double and an RBI. Yonder Alonso had a couple of hits.
–Brandon Phillips continued his good work from the leadoff spot. He went 1-2 with a leadoff homer and two walks. BP has had an awfully good season.
–CoCo pitched a perfect ninth for the save.
NEGATIVES
–Not much offense today, after all the slugging yesterday. Baseball is a funny game.
NOT-SO-RANDOM THOUGHTS
–I like winning.
–Devin Mesoraco was called for catcher’s interference, the second time he’s committed that particular offense during his short time with the Reds. Strange.
–Johnny Cueto will win tomorrow. Bet the ranch on it.
