Let’s recap tonight’s titanic struggle….

FINAL
Cincinnati 3
Chicago (NL) 6

W: K. Wood (2-5)
L: L. Ondrusek (4-5)
S: C. Marmol (33)
BOX SCORE

POSITIVES
–Yonder Alonso went 3-4 with an RBI. Jay Bruce reached three times, going 2-3 with a double, a walk and an RBI. Edgar Renteria and Joey Votto also had two hits. Votto’s two hits were a double and a triple.

–Johnny Cueto gave up three runs on seven hits in seven innings. He struck out three and walked none.

NEGATIVES
–With the game tied at 3, Logan Ondrusek gave up a hit and a walk and retired only one hitter. Of course, then Bill Bray entered the game and gave up a three-run homer on his first pitch.

NOT-SO-RANDOM THOUGHTS
–The Reds just lost a series to the Cubs, and missed a chance to pull within a game of .500. Terrible.

–I really can’t stand the stupid Cubs.

–I’ve said it before, and I’ll probably say it again, but I wish this season were over. I’m still going to watch every game the rest of the way, but I’m exhausted with the 2011 version of the Cincinnati Reds, and I have been for quite some time.
