Let’s recap tonight’s titanic struggle….

FINAL
Cincinnati 4
Washington 6

W: C. Wang (2-2)
L: M. Leake (10-8)
S: D. Storen (32)
BOX SCORE

POSITIVES
–Jose Arredondo and Bill Bray pitched well out of the pen. Yonder Alonso had two hits and no errors. Jay Bruce had two RBI. Joey Votto scored two runs.

NEGATIVES
–Mike Leake gave up five earned runs on seven hits in six innings. First rough outing he’s had in quite some time.

–Votto made an error.

–Ray Knight still does the Nationals post-game show, and that’s a negative.

NOT-SO-RANDOM THOUGHTS
–The Reds took a quick 2-0 lead in the first, and Leake promptly gave it away by allowing three runs in the bottom half of the inning. Cincinnati was never in the game after that, though they had a number of chances.

–Edgar Renteria doubled, then pulled up lame before reaching second base and had to leave the game. Paging Chris Valaika…

–Good night, moon.
