Let’s recap tonight’s titanic struggle….

FINAL
San Diego 3
Cincinnati 5

W: B. Bray (3-2)
L: J. Spence (0-1)
S: F. Cordero (23)
BOX SCORE

POSITIVES
–Jay Bruce went 2-4 with 4 RBI. His two hits were an RBI double and a two-out eighth-inning 3-run homer that turned a one-run deficit into a victory.

–Miguel Cairo had a triple, his second of the year, and the 1000th hit of his career.

–Bronson Arroyo gave up two runs in the first inning, and he reached the 80-pitch mark by the fourth…but at the end of the day, he ended up just giving up one earned run over six innings. Arroyo allowed six hits and two walks, and struck out six.

–Excellent work by Francisco Cordero in the ninth to notch his 23rd save.

NEGATIVES
–Another poor outing by Sam LeCure, who gave up a hit and walked three in 1.2 innings.

–Bronson Arroyo made two errors, but then he went home and polished his 2010 Gold Glove.

NOT-SO-RANDOM THOUGHTS
–Three wins in a row. Are you kidding me?

–On the season, Jay Bruce is now hitting .272/.350/.506 with 24 homers and 73 RBI.

–I like the Cincinnati Reds.
