Let’s recap today’s titanic struggle…

Cincinnati 2
Colorado 1
WP: J. Cueto (8-5)
LP: J. Chacin (9-9)
S: F. Cordero (22)
BOX SCORE

POSITIVES
-Johnny Cueto was outstanding.  Cueto pitched 7 shutout innings, allowing only 3 hits and 2 walks while striking out 9.  He retook the ERA lead, which now stands at 1.94 on the season.

-Jay Bruce went 2-4 with a double, run scored, and an RBI. Bruce hit 6-13 in the series with a homerun, 3 runs scored, and 3 RBI.

NEGATIVES
-I did not watch the game, but Cordero allowed a leadoff homerun in the 9th that had to make fans a little uneasy.

NOT-SO-RANDOM THOUGHTS
-That is back to back wins again for the Reds.  Not that it really means a whole lot at this stage of the season.

-I have only watched about a full games worth of Reds baseball over the past week.  It feels like the decade of the 2000s for me again.  High hopes, but not much meaningful baseball in the last 2 months of the season.  At this stage, I’d like to see this team get back to the .500 mark.

-Finally, I offer you a shot of my license plate, which I have had now for a few months…

And This One Belongs to the Reds
