Denis Phipps continues his strong season, going 2-4 with his 4th homer since being promoted to the Bats. At this point, I’d have to call him the surprise of the organization for 2011. Devin Mesoraco went 1-3 and hit his 12th homer of the season.

Jerry Gil threw 2 one hit innings, giving up an unearned run while striking out 2.

Donald Lutz was 3-4 with a double and Drew Poulk was 2-4 with 2 doubles.

Terrible night for Billy Hamilton, 0-4 (3 k’s) and picked up his 31st error.

Daniel Corcino got the win, going 7 innings, allowing 6 hits, 3 runs, 2 earned on a walk and 5 strikeouts.

Rookie Ball

Billings 4 – Great Falls 1

Kyle Waldrop went 2-4 with a triple, Juan Silva went 2-4, and Sean Buckley went 1-3 and hit his 12th homer in 42 games.

Radhames Quezada threw 5 shutout innings, allowing 1 hit, a walk, and striking out 4. Brooks Pinckard picked up his 5th save, going 1.1 allowing a hit and striking out 2.

AZL Reds 10 – AZL A’s 7

Bryson Smith went 4-6, Robert Ramirez went 3-4 with a walk, Josef Terry went 2-5, as did Brennan May.

Alejandro Chacin notched his 9th save, going the 9th inning, allowing one hit.
