Let’s recap tonight’s titanic struggle….

FINAL
Colorado 3
Cincinnati 2

W: E. Rogers (6-1)
L: D. Willis (0-2)
S: R. Betancourt (1)
BOX SCORE

POSITIVES
–Once again, Dontrelle Willis put the Reds in a position to win, but his hitters didn’t help him. Willis went eight innings, giving up three runs on five hits, striking out ten and walking one. That’s just outstanding.

Plus, he had an RBI triple.

–Ramon Hernandez was 3-4. Edgar Renteria had two hits.

NEGATIVES
–Everything else. This team just stinks right now.

NOT-SO-RANDOM THOUGHTS
–The Reds must be the least-interesting team in the league. The games aren’t even fun to watch any more.

–I can’t believe how much Willis’ command/control has improved over what we’ve seen the last couple of years. Willis struck out ten tonight and went eight innings; he hasn’t done either of those things since 2007. Really surprising.

I have no complaints about Dontrelle Willis whatesoever. He’s been very good, and a lot of fun to have on the roster.

–The Reds will likely go to bed eleven games out of first place. Sigh…
