–Jay Bruce went 2-4 with a homer, four RBI, and two runs scored.
–Drew Stubbs and Brandon Phillips each homered; Phillips’ bomb was of the pinch-hit variety, and it was a blast.
–Joey Votto went 0-1 with three walks.
NEGATIVES
–Homer Bailey was miserable before the big rain delay came: three innings, six hits, five earned runs. Sam LeCure wasn’t much better afterward: two innings, two runs, two hits, three walks.
–Actually, surprisingly, the only Reds pitcher who didn’t stink was Jose Arredondo. Bill Bray and Nick Masset were bad again.
–Paul Janish was 0-4 with an error. Doesn’t get much uglier than that.
NOT-SO-RANDOM THOUGHTS
–Just a disgusting performance. This team is not fun to watch at all, and I don’t know how much longer I can stomach them.
