Louisville 5 – Scranton W/B 4 ; Game 1
Chris Valaika hit his 6th homerun of the season while going 2-3 with a run scored and 3 RBI.  Jose Castro, Jeremy Hermida, and Michael Griffin each added 2 hits to the Bats total.

Edinson Volquez struck out 6 in 5 innings pitched.  He allowed 2 runs, 1 earned, on 5 hits and 2 walks.  Carlos Fisher picked up the win in relief by pitching a scoreless inning.  Jordan Smith recorded his 6th save of the season while striking out 2 in a perfect inning of relief.

Scranton W/B 4 – Louisville 3
Denis Phipps hit his 2nd homerun with the Bats.  He went 1-3 with 2 RBI.

Daryl Thompson allowed 3 runs on 7 hits and a walk in 5 innings pitched.  Jerry Gil allowed a run on a hit and a walk in 1.1 innings of relief to pick up the loss and fall to 5-6 on the season.

AA
Mississippi 4 – Carolina 3
Bill Rhinehart went 2-3 with a double, run scored, and 2 runs batted in.  Quintin Berry and Didi Gregorius had 2 hits each, all singles.

James Adkins picked up the loss by allowing a run on a hit and a walk in .1 inning of relief.

High A
Bakersfield 4 – San Jose 3
Kevin Coddington provided the Blaze with most of its offense by going 2-3 with a homerun, double, 2 runs scored, and 3 RBI.  The homerun was Coddington’s 2nd of the season with Bakersfield.

Daniel Renken allowed a run on 4 hits and a walk over 6 innings pitched.  He struck out 6 but did not pick up the decision.  Andrew Bowman picked up the win in relief after allowing a run on a walk while striking out 2 over 1.1 innings worked.  The win improved Bowman’s record to 4-2 on the season.

A
Dayton 4 – Lake County 1
Ronald Torreyes and Jaren Matthews each hit solo homeruns.  For Torreyes, it was his 3rd of the season while Matthews hit his 5th.

Tanner Robles allowed 1 unearned run over 6 innings of work.  Robles allowed only 1 hit while walking 2.  He struck out 3 in improving his record to 4-8 on the year.

Rookie
Billings 1 – Great Falls 0
Kurtis Muller and Kyle Waldrop had 3 hits each while Sean Buckley supplied all of the runs by hitting his 11th homerun of the season.

Kyle McMyne picked up his first win of the season by pitching 5 shutout innings, allowing 5 hits while striking out 4.

The AZL Reds did not play on Sunday.
