Let’s recap tonight’s titanic struggle….

FINAL
San Francisco 2
Cincinnati 7

W: M. Leake (9-6)
L: M. Bumgarner (6-10)
BOX SCORE

POSITIVES
–Another fine start by Mike Leake: six and a third innings, one earned run on eight hits, with seven strikeouts and no walks.

–No Red had more than one hit, but Chris Heisey and Jay Bruce each had two RBI. Brandon Phillips went 1-2 with two walks, an RBI, and a run scored.

–Bill Bray pitched very well in a tight spot in the seventh inning.

NEGATIVES
–A night after getting the game-winning base hit, Edgar Renteria made two terrible errors in one inning.

NOT-SO-RANDOM THOUGHTS
–Two wins in a row? Is this heaven?

–Not much else to say. Cincinnati scored seven runs, but they only had seven hits (the good guys benefited from three San Francisco errors). In the end, it was an easy win.

–With Johnny Cueto on the mound tomorrow against Barry Zito, our Redlegs have an excellent chance of sweeping the defending World Champs. I like the sound of that.
