Edinson Volquez was outstanding, doing something he has never done with the Reds and that is pitching a complete game! Volquez allowed 2 runs on 5 hits and did not walk a batter while striking out 9. He threw 110 pitches with 82 of those being strikes.
Devin Mesoraco went 2-3 with a double, run scored, and an RBI. Chris Valaika had one hit in 4 at-bats, but drove in 2 RBI.

Tennessee 6 – Carolina 5
Henry Rodriguez went 2-5 with a double, run scored, and 3 RBI while Denis Phipps also went 2-5 and drove in a run. Felix Perez homered in the 3rd inning, his 4th of the season.
Tim Hamulack failed to record an out in the 9th inning and allowed the winning run to score on 2 hits to drop his record to 1-3 on the season.

Didi Gregorius went 3-5 with 2 doubles, a run scored, and 3 RBI while Josh Fellhauer added 3 hits and a run scored.

Billy Hamilton went 2-4 and hit his 2nd homerun of the season. Tucker Barnhart went 2-3 and drove in an RBI.
Mitchell Clarke went 5 scoreless innings, allowing only 1 hit and a walk while striking out 5. Pat Doyle and Drew Hayes pitched 4 scoreless innings to preserve the shutout. Hayes recorded his 15th save of the season.
