–Another fine outing by Johnny Cueto: Six innings, one run on four hits. ERA now 1.98. He’s been so, so good.
–Jay Bruce reached base all four times he batted (two hits, two walks) and scored a run. Chris Heisey had two hits and a run scored from the leadoff spot. Miguel Cairo doubled and knocked in a run with a sacrifice fly. Edgar Renteria knocked in a run with a single.
–Once again, excellent relief work by the bullpen: Bray, Ondrusek, Chapman, Cordero.
NEGATIVES
–A good performance today can’t mask what was a miserable series overall.
