Nice blurb on Redleg Nation Spotlight Player, Tucker Barnhart:

By now, the Midwest League probably knows it’s not a good idea to run on catcher Tucker Barnhart. He’s thrown out 37 of 76 attempting to steal, a 48.7-percent denial rate.

It’s no surprise to Dragons manager Delino DeShields, who managed Barnhart at Billings last season and watched him cut down 51 percent.

“Been doing it since I met him,” DeShields said. “And he’s come up with some big ones in the last couple weeks, game-changing throws, where if a guy steals a base it can change the outcome of the game. He doesn’t have the biggest arm, but he’s accurate.”

I don’t know how big an arm you need, but in the games I’ve attended…Tucker’s arm looked pretty darn impressive to me.
