Let’s recap tonight’s titanic struggle….

FINAL
Cincinnati 7
Milwaukee 8

W: M. Estrada (2-5)
L: F. Cordero (3-2)
BOX SCORE

POSITIVES
–Jay Bruce and Joey Votto had two-hit games, with homers. Drew Stubbs had three hits in the leadoff spot.

NEGATIVES
–Francisco Cordero gave up three runs — on three hits and two walks — in the bottom of the ninth to blow his fourth save of the season. It was just a disastrous inning and, despite the fact that Cordero has been great this year, it was exactly what I expected to happen.

NOT-SO-RANDOM THOUGHTS
–When it rains, it pours.

–The Reds are two games under .500, and in fourth place, having lost six of eight. The first half of this season has not been fun to watch, and the good guys are stumbling into the break. I’m tired of baseball already, and that makes me exceptionally sad.

–It has been a long week on the job, and I’m tired. I’m going to bed, and I pray that I don’t dream about the Cincinnati Reds.
