Gwinnett 3 – Louisville 1
Zack Cozart went 2-4 with an RBI.  Cozart is now batting .321/.363/.485.  Juan Francisco also went 2-4.  Juan is now batting .292/.324/.503.

Dontrelle Willis went 6.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits and a walk while striking out 6.  Bradley Boxberger finished off the 7th inning by pitching .2 perfect innings.  This was Boxberger’s first appearance in Triple-A.  Jeremy Horst fell to 0-3 by allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and a walk in 2 innings pitched.

Tennessee 3 – Carolina 1
Neftali Soto went 2-4 with a double.  Soto is now batting .286/.333/.553 in 161 at-bats for Carolina.  Yasmani Grandal has hit safely in 6 of his 7 starts for Carolina, going 1-4 with a double in this game.

James Avery fell to 4-8 with the loss.  Avery allowed 3 runs on 9 hits and 2 walks in 6.1 innings pitched.  He struck out 2.  Travis Webb pitched 1.2 perfect innings of relief, striking out 3.

High A
Stockton 4 – Bakersfield 3
Mark Fleury went 3-4  with 3 singles and an RBI.  Alex Buchholz, Chris Richburg, and Ryan LaMarre each went 2-4.  Buchholz had 2 singles and scored 3 runs.  Richburg had 2 singles. Finally LaMarre had 2 singles and added 2 RBI.

Curtis Partch fell to 4-8 with the loss.  Partch surrendered 4 runs on 9 hits, 1 walk, and struck out 5 over 7 innings pitched.  He gave up 3 homeruns in the loss.

Dayton 7 – Lansing 1
The story on this Reds minor league day of action was Daniel Renken.  With the win, Renken improved to just 3-8 on the year, but the story here was Renken’s strikeouts.  Renken struck out 14 in the game over 6 innings pitched, and at one point, had struck out 10 consecutive batters.  The 14 strikeouts tied a Dragons record while the 10 consecutive strikeouts tied a Midwest League record set back in 1966.  The rest of Renken’s line: 0 runs, 2 hits, 1 walk.

Juan Duran went 3-4 with a double and an RBI.  Yorman Rodriguez went 3-5 with 3 singles and 2 RBI.  David Vidal and Ronald Torreyes had 2 hits each with a double.  Donald Lutz had only 1 hit, but it was a homerun, his 11th of the season.

Rookie
Helena 4 – Billings 2
Kurtis Muller and Kyle Waldrop each went 2-4.  Muller had 2 singles while Waldrop had a triple and a run scored.  Devin Lohman homered, his 3rd in 9 games with Billings this season.

Ismael Guillon picked up the loss by allowing 2 runs in 4 innings pitched.  He allowed only 2 hits, but he walked 6 in the game.

AZL Reds 14 – AZL Royals 6
Brandon Dailey went 3-4 with 3 singles, 2 runs scored, and 4 RBI.  Wilfrel Estevez and Wagner Gomez had 2 hits and 2 RBI each.  Brennan May had 2 hits and a double, he also drove in an RBI.

Daniel Tuttle improved to 2-0 on the season with the win.  Tuttle allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, 2 walks, and struck out 8 over 5 innings pitched.
