Let’s recap tonight’s titanic struggle….
FINAL
Baltimore 7
Cincinnati 5
W: J. Guthrie (3-9)
L: H. Bailey (3-2)
BOX SCORE
POSITIVES
— Brandon Phillips and Ramon Hernandez both had 2 hits and a homer. Chris Heisey and Miguel Cairo also had 2 hits.
— Those are about the only positives I can come up with…
NEGATIVES
— Homer retired the first 7 he faced, but gave up 1 in the 3rd and 4 in the 4th and wasn’t effective.
— Drew Stubbs was 1-5 and grounded out with the bases loaded (after Jim Johnson had walked in 2 runs) before making him throw a strike. He left 6 runners on base today.
— Janish was 0-4, his slash numbers are down to .228/.256/.270/.525. This team just cannot continue to run a guy out there every day that’s OPS is .525, no matter how good his defense is.
NOT-SO-RANDOM THOUGHTS
–I have always hated interleague play. I hate it even more when the Reds get their butts kicked…by teams that I don’t believe are as good as they are. My frustration level with this team is very high right now, from the front office to the management/coaching staff to the players.
