Minor League Player of the Day: Louisville Bats SS Zach Cozart went 3-3 with 2 walks. After a .615 OPS April, he’s raised his season OPS to .884. When are the Reds going to cut bait on Renteria and give this kid a chance?

Zach Cozart continued his torrid streak, going 3-3 (double) with 2 walks, after a .900plus OPS in May, he’s over 1.200 for June. Juan Francisco went 3-5 with a homer and drove in 4 runs, Danny Dorn 2-5 (double), Jeremy Hermida 2-4 (walk), Devin Mesoraco and Dave Sappelt both went 2-5.

The Bats have 6 guys in their lineup hitting over .310.

Nick Christiani had his first rough outing at AAA, going 1/3 of an inning, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits.

Henry Rodriguez went 2-4, as did Nefi Soto.

Tim Gustafson dropped to 0-3 with the Mudcats (1-6 overall) in a hard luck loss, throwing 7 innings, giving up 2 runs. He did give up 7 hits and 2 walks though.

No one had more than one hit for the Blaze, Grandal had the only extra base hit with a double.

Lance Janke threw 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks, but he did strike out 9.
