Juan Francisco had 2 hits in 3 at-bats, including a double and a homerun.  The homerun was Juan’s fourth of the season.  Zack Cozart was also 2-3, adding a double and a walk.

Brandon Hynick allowed 2 runs on 3 hits and 1 walk over 7 innings pitched. He struck out 7, but unfortunately, received no run support and picked up the loss to drop to 1-5 overall on the season.

Chattanooga 5 – Carolina 3
Jose Castro went 2-4 with 2 doubles and an RBI.  Mike Costanzo had a double and homerun in 4 at-bats.  The homerun was his 7th of the season.  He also walked and drove in 2 RBI.

Tim Gustafson allowed 5 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits and 5 walks over 5 innings pitched to pick up the loss.  He struck out 3 but was hurt by 3 Carolina errors.  Gustafson is now 1-5 on the season.

Dayton 5 – Clinton 1
Yorman Rodriguez was a perfect 3-3 at the plate with 3 singles and 2 runs scored.  Billy Hamilton had 3 hits in 5 at-bats with 2 singles, a double, and a run scored.  Rodriguez stole his 17th base of the season while Hamilton swiped 3 more, giving him 48 stolen bases on the year.  Juan Duran went 2-4 with a double and a run scored.

Josh Smith went 6 shutout innings, allowing only 2 hits and 3 walks while striking out 8.  The win improved Josh’s record to 6-3 on the season.  He lowered his ERA to 1.73 on the season.
