Minor League Player of the Day: Devin Mesoraco (Louisville) 5-6, 1 double, 4 singles, 1 RBI, 2 runs

Louisville 11 – Durham 8
Yonder Alonso went 3-5 with a homerun, double, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored.  The homerun was Alonso’s 5th of the season.  Daniel Dorn also went 3-5 and hit a homerun.  The homerun was his 4th of the season and he drove in 3 RBI.  Devin Mesoraco did not homer, but he tallied 5 base hits in 6 at-bats.  He had 1 double and 4 singles with an RBI and 2 runs scored.  Juan Francisco went 3 for 6 with a double and a run scored.  Brent Clevlin hit his first homerun of the season, going 2-5 with 2 RBI and a run scored.  Zack Cozart wrapped up the hit parade by going 2-6 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI.

Carlos Fisher pitched 2 scoreless innings in relief, allowing 1 hit and striking out 1, to go 1-0 on the season.

Mobile 5 – Carolina 0
Not much to mention here.  Cody Puckett went 1-3 with a double.

James Avery allowed 5 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits and 2 walks  in 5 innings pitched to drop to 3-5 on the season.  He was hurt by 2 Mudcats errors.  Of course the offense scoring zero runs didn’t help either.

High A
Bakersfield 4 – Stockton 3
Tyler Buchholz, Carlos Mendez, and Chris Richburg had 2 hits each for the Blaze in the win.  Richburg hit his first homerun of the season, a solo shot in the 5th inning. 

J.C. Sulbaran struck out 13 batters in 5 innings of work.  He allowed 3 runs on 4 hits and walked 2, however he did not get the decision.  Tim Crabbe scattered 3 hits and walked 1 in 4 shutout innings to pick up the win.
