Games Played on 05/14/11

Minor League Player of the Day: none…it was that kind of day.

Buffalo 4 – Louisville 3

The Bats had 11 hits, but only could put up 3 runs. Cozart, Alonso (.331/.386/.541), and Dorn all had 2 hits. Dorn also had 2 walks.

Nice start by Scott Carroll, he threw 6 innings giving up 1 run, 5 hits, 2 walks and 4 strikeouts.

Not good for those that think Herrera should replace Chapman, as Danny threw 1.2 innings, giving up 3 runs on 3 hits and raising his ERA to 4.41.

NOTE: Juan Francisco was removed from the game in the 4th inning for a pinch runner.

Carolina 7 – Mobile 3

Felix Perez went 2-4 with a double and a walk as did Mike Constanzo.

Darryl Thompson threw 5.1 innings, allowing 6 hits, 2 runs (both earned), one walk and 6 strikeout.

High A

Modesto 22 – Bakersfield 2

Josh Fellhauer went 2-3 and Eric Campbell went 2-4. Brodie Greene went 1-4 with a solo homer.

Mace Thurman threw 2 hitless, scoreless innings, walking 2 and striking out 1..a major accomplishment when your team gives up 22 runs (and shows how bad everyone else that went to the mound was).

Low A

Dayton @ Ft. Wayne was postponed.
