Minor League Player of the Day: For the second straight day, we’ll go with Bats catcher, Devin Mesoraco, who went 2-4 with a double and a home run, knocking in 4 runs. Devin has raised his slash numbers to .303/.398/.532/.931.


Louisville 8 – Buffalo 3

Devin Mesoraco went 2-4 with a double and homer, Danny Dorn went 2-4 with a walk, Chris Valaika went 2-4, Zach Cozart went 2-5 with a double, and rehabbing Juan Francisco went 2-5 with a double.

Dontrelle Willis went 5.1 giving up 3 runs (2 earned) on 9 hits, walking one and striking out 2. David Johnson threw 2.2 innings of hitless relief, allowing a walk and striking out 1.


Mobile 8 – Carolina 0

Felix Perez went 2-3 and Miguel Rojas went 2-4 were the only offensive highlights for the Mudcats.

RedlegNation Spotlight Player Matt Klinker took a tough loss, he threw 6 innings, allowing 2 unearned runs on 4 hits and striking out 3.

Donnie Joseph’s struggles continue as he gave up 5 runs (all earned) on 5 hits in one inning, walking one, and giving up 2 homers, raising his ERA to 8.80.

High A

Modesto 11 – Bakersfield 2

Henry Rodriguez was the offensive standout on a bad offensive night for the Blaze, going 1-4 with a double.

The only pitching highlight was by OFer Stephen Hunt, who threw a hitless inning, walking 1 and striking out one.

Low A

Dayton 7 – Ft. Wayne 2

Devin Lohman went 2-4 with a homer, Juan Duran went 1-4 with a triple (driving in 3 runs), and Dominic D’Anna went 1-4 with a double.

After two straight mediocre outings, Josh Smith got back on track with 5 innings, allowing one run on 4 hits and striking out 5. Daniel Wolford threw 2 hitless innings, allowing 2 walks and striking out 2.
