Louisville 15 – Buffalo 7

With scoring 15 runs on 18 hits, the Bats had a plethora of players that had big nights. They were led by Devin Mesoraco, who went 4-5 with 2 doubles, Zach Cozart went 3-4 with a double, Todd Frazier continued his hot streak, going 2-4 with his 9th homer, Jeremy Hermida went 2-5 with a double and homer, Kris Negron went 2-5 with a double and a triple, and Yonder Alonso (moving down to the #2 spot in the order) went 2-4 with a double.

Matt Maloney threw 8 innings, giving up 8 hits, 0 walks, and striking 3 hitters, but he gave up 6 runs because he gave up 3 homers.

AA

Birmingham 5 – Carolina 4

The Mudcats only collected 5 hits, so that highlight was DH Kyle Day, going 1-4 with a double.

Josh Freeman threw 1.2 scoreless inning of relief and Brad Boxberger threw a scoreless ninth.

High A

Bakersfield 7 – Visalia 3

Eric Campbell continued his dominance of California League pitching (.422/.506/.781) , going 3-4 with a double, Mark Fleury went 2-3 with a double, triple, and walk, Brodie Greene went 2-5, Josh Fellhauer 2-4, Yasmani Grandal went 2-5, and Andrew Means, who entered the team as a PR, went 2-3 and stole his 22nd base in 23 attempts.

Lance Janke threw 6 innings allowing 3 runs on 3 hits, but walked 4 while striking out 5. Clayton Shunick threw 3 hitless innings, allowing a walk and striking out 3.

Low A

Ft. Wayne 2 – Dayton 1 in 10 innings.

Jaren Matthews led the Dragons sparse offense going 1-3 with a triple and a walk.

Daniel Renken threw 6 innings allowing 1 run on 4 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. Jason Braun went 3 scoreless innings, allowing 1 hit and 2 walks while striking out 2.

The Bats made 5 errors, including Juan Duran’s 6th (in the outfield) and Billy Hamilton’s 15th.
